Do I need NEET to study MBBS abroad?
Yes. Under the NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021 you must have qualified NEET-UG before taking admission abroad if you intend to practise in India.
How long must the course be?
A minimum of 54 months at a single institution, plus a 12-month internship at the same foreign university. Clinical training split across countries is not accepted.
Does it have to be taught in English?
Yes, for Indian students planning to return.
Is FMGE still the exam?
FMGE is the screening test in force at present. NMC has notified the National Exit Test to replace it, and its rollout has been deferred more than once. Check the current position on the NMC website.
